Hospital Records' Drum & Bass veteran, Danny Bryd, took Thomas Oliver's latest festival-fueled single, Friendly Fire, and gave it a hard-hitting, rave-style drum and bass flavour.
The footage for the music video has been filmed during Thomas Oliver's headliner set at Mardi Gras festival in Ohakune in November 2020 and released last weekend by Hospital Records on their Youtube channel. The audio has been released by Tenfold Records.
Thomas Oliver has been a Danny Byrd fan since Danny's first full-length album, released in 2008 and titled Supersized, so Danny was Thomas's first choice for remixer of this song. Danny loved the original version of the song and predicted that “this is going to be a big one for Thomas”, and then delivered his remix which is sure to make itself well known in the drum and bass world.
Thomas has a long-standing connection with Hospital Records, having released several collabs on this label, and having featured in several music videos on the Hospital channels, so to team up with another Hospital artist serves to continue this connection, and the resulting remix is bright, vibrant and bouncy, but with a dark and wide and monstrous bassline to boot.
“As soon as my managers and I started the discussion about a remix of Friendly Fire, I knew that Danny Byrd was the one, without question. And what he has delivered is exactly what we were hoping for and more, so I'm amped to have it out in the world.” – Thomas Oliver
