PRINS 'MAGNETIC'

PRINS kicked off 2020 with a bang playing in The Edge NYE Festival in Hagley Park, Christchurch with a record audience of 22,000 people. Recently returning from Auckland where she played alongside International acts in Highlifes’s sold out Sunsetters Festival, she’s gearing up for her much anticipated dance-pop EP which shows a brand new side to the PRINS we’ve already seen.  Along with live performances to support her EP release, we can also expect a brand new music video accompanying the first single Magnetic which is set to release on March 17 2020

Young and determined Alannah (PRINS) headed full force into the music industry with singles making NZ on Air’s NewTracks, receiving radio airplay and launching her into her first International Tour in August 2019. This Auckland born singer/songwriter, dancer, actor and model has spent the past few years establishing herself with live performance experience in New Zealand and has no intention of leaving the industry any time soon. A sultry powerhouse described as a mix between Duo Lipa and Amy Winehouse, PRINS is one to watch out for in 2020.

Magnetic is a much needed alter ego release and carries the intention to cause people to let loose and dance. By teaming up with NZ’s electronic duo SACHI in terms of production for the song, the electronic dance-pop elements of this high energy track was inevitable and reflects the entire project perfectly. The single Magnetic was inspired by self indulgence of a toxic relationship and explores the idea of two people who can’t stay away from each other despite the damage it causes to your mental/physical heath.

Magnetic was written by Nick Chrisp, Will Thomas, Alannah Prins and Timothy Heeringa - recorded mainly in SACHI’s studio in Auckland with the finishing touches recorded in the Christchurch studio. Mixed by Struan Finlay and mastered by KOG in Auckland.
