Whangarei based band, Otium, release new single 'Summer Sun' today!
Austyn Mills explains “It’s a stylistic return to how the band was born and a nod to the lessons that we’ve learnt along the way.”
“ Summer Sun was born in the dunes of Omamari”, it's March release extending the summer nostalgia we all experience.
Otium has continued to release music that showcases their Kiwi talent with no compromises regarding quality or fun along the way!
“The whole band loves reggae and we wanted to incorporate those elements into something that still sounded and felt like Otium.” It’s that reggae summer festival vibe to make the ‘Summer Sun’ last all year round.
“Lyrically, Summer Sun is an ode to the nights you just couldn’t say no. It’s the knowledge that you’ve had one too many and you love it. It’s the sun rising over another night. It’s a story we all either see or partake in
- you be the judge on whether it’s just for kicks.”
The song was recorded and produced by Xiao and James at Faith Productions, mixed by Scott Seabright and mastered by Chris from Kog Studios.
