Over six years after the band’s previous release, Working To Divide, 2 a.m. Orchestra is set to release their fourth original full-length record titled Trading Graves.
The album consists of 13 fresh tracks of what fans would expect from the band – a mix of rock and orchestral textures, powerful arrangements, and thought-provoking lyrics – as well as some tracks with a markedly new and different minimalistic approach.
Trading Graves is slated for release on February 21, 2020.
2 a.m. Orchestra has long been the solo recording project of multi-instrumentalist and singersongwriter, David Kelley. Live performances have historically consisted of a rotating cast of
characters on stage. Kelley has at various times based 2 a.m. Orchestra in different geographical locations, most notably having transplanted the project from Los Angeles to Auckland years ago.
2 a.m. Orchestra has been nominated for the Taite Music Prize, featured on Radio New Zealand (RNZ), appeared on several New Zealand On-Air “Kiwi Hit Discs,” and reached #2 on KiwiFm in addition to receiving nationwide airplay of the single, “Heads and Tails.”
