day13n challenges conventions, and provokes thought, with his powerful new single ‘B3N R3177Y’

Daylen Schmied-Pape,  aka 'day13n''  most recent single B3N R3177Y is a story of imposter syndrome, self doubt, and drowning in guilt for your mistakes. Painting yourself as the villain in your own story, and questioning the validity of your own perspective.

'Day13n is an Experimental Punk-Rapper, who challenges the boundaries of musical genres, and aims to provoke his audiences to question their definitions of other people, music, and themselves.  At the core of his  artistic vision is a message of individuality.  He encourages listeners to take pride in their uniqueness, and love themselves radically.

The visuals in the music video, directed, shot and edited by the masterful April Jasper, illustrate being trapped in a routine, and evoke feelings of hopelessness that resonate universally.

The talented Chris Wong is behind the ethereal, electronic production on this track, that draws inspiration from the thriving New Zealand house and techno scene, reworking rave-reminiscent tones into a dark, and droning backing track that lends itself perfectly to the story the lyrics tell.

With this track, day13n invites listeners to acknowledge their own wrongdoings, confront their mistakes, and begin to forgive themselves, by non-judgmentally accepting their flaws, and three-dimensionality as part of what makes them human, and defines their unique journeys through life.

The combination of thought-provoking lyrics, striking visuals, and immersive production, leaves a lasting impact, and connects with people, no matter what stage in their own recovery they’re at.
