Uplifting and empowering, the rap heavy track is the first in this style by The Human Kind and is a signal of what is still to come this year from the group.
“This song is about believing in and fulfilling one’s destiny and the inspiration was taken from Deutronomy 31:6 in the Bible,” says Jason Slade, the lead vocalist for the song.
The track was written as a group including Frank Marinthe, Chrissy Diamond, Jason Slade, Mitch French, Debbie-Toko Stevens. The collective challenged themselves by delivering the song in a style they hadn’t done before, rap.
“I’m more open now to different ways of expression. Messages of hope and encouragement are a constant in my songwriting, but delivering in different musical forms/genres…is exciting and somewhat scary but also heaps of fun,” says Jason Slade who wrote the lyrics for the song.
Accompanying the single is the minimalist style video which shows all members of the band against a black backdrop, making the empowering lyrics the main focus.
