LUNAVELA SHARES NEW TRACK 'SIX-OUT-OF-TEN-FRIEND' / ANNOUNCES ALBUM

Lunavela, the moniker of ex-Collapsing Cities vocalist/songwriter Steve Mathieson, is proud to share his latest single, 'Six-Out-Of-Ten-Friend', a 90's-esque indie dream with tongue-in-cheek lyrics celebrating weirdly uncomfortable social encounters.

Speaking of the track, Steve says "Six-Out-Of-Ten Friend is not a misanthropic song, it's more a celebration of setting better boundaries with people who don't get you and laughing about social awkwardness. Y'know celebrating that awkward conversation of small talk in the pet food aisle of Countdown with an ex- work colleague, music punisher or an ex-girlfriends husband. This is my idea of a pop song".

The track, also featuring drummer Alistair Deverick (Boycrush), bassist Hannan Carter (SteriogramNO) and mixed by Ben Lawson, comes ahead of a full album release, Imposter Syndrome, later this year. A mixture of pop songs about universal themes; sexuality, sobriety and sad tearjerkers, Steve credits getting sober as the driving force for writing songs again. Admitting that making the second Collapsing Cities album gave him a "massive chip on his shoulder", he is happy to be in love with the process of making music again and is enjoying the creative freedom of working on his own.

"My M.O with songwriting on this project is to make you feel something in some form whether that's make you smile, laugh, cry, sing along, resent me, whatever. It's taken me so long to do this album as it's all self- funded, I'm so proud of it, grateful for the people who helped and it's the best thing I've ever done" - Steve Mathieson
