Aotearoa needs a powerhouse girl group - A.R.T has answered the call.

For too long there has been a missing piece in the jigsaw puzzle of Aotearoa’s diverse music industry - a powerhouse girl group. With debut single Be Ready, A.R.T have emerged to take their place amongst the country’s household names

Self-described as “three broke brown girls from a broken city, who dared to dream”, Anastasia, Rosetta, and Tiresa have lived up to their own ambitions over the past few months while wowing audiences as part of TVNZ’s Popstars. Now, Be Ready illustrates just how much effect the show’s development process has had on the group.

The three close friends from Porirua, and of Polynesian descent, first found fame as highschoolers after their gorgeous acapella version of New Zealand’s national anthem went viral online. However, what Be Ready reveals is A.R.T’s true character - three women channelling the warrior power wielded by groups from The Supremes to Destiny’s Child into a fierce new sound.

Inspired by RnB, K-Pop, Soul, Pop, Hip Hop and even Musical Theatre, A.R.T find a way with Be Ready to blend these into a genre-bending, infectious invitation to join their gang; to be healed, to be angry, to be empowered, to be hilarious.

And as the group put it themselves in the final line of the track, this release is simply a herald for what’s to come - “you ain’t seen nothing yet.”
