Following the release of their first track Summertime in Aotearoa, Tāmaki Makaurau roots band, Corrella, are back with a brand new track, Chur Māori. This track will have you singing and dancing away without even realising it.
This anthem, written by founding members of Corrella, grew and developed over the years in the most kiwi way possible, around a guitar over some beers in the back yard. The hook and groove set the tone for what is meant to make you feel like you are there with friends, around the same guitar in the backyard.
The lyrics of the verse are open to interpretation by the listener. The lyrics are meant to transport you to your chill place, the place you feel most at home, most comfortable, the place you enjoy being yourself the most. The chorus consists of only two words, and for a good reason. When you sing this song you involuntarily find yourself part of a unity unlike any other in the world, regardless of where in the world you come from.
Chur Māori is the band’s second single of their upcoming debut EP, due to be released in April 2021.
