After having to cancel their tour last March as New Zealand went into Covid lockdown, The DeSotos are delighted to be back on the road with the rescheduled Southern Routes tour this March.
The band had played the first two dates of their 2020 tour when they pulled the plug prior to crossing Cook Strait for the South Island shows. This proved to be the right decision as the country was in level 4 lockdown only days later.
The rescheduled tour includes both new shows and new material.
It will feature acoustic three piece arrangements of songs from The DeSotos two albums and Paul’s solo album, plus a couple of yet to be recorded tracks, and reference covers from the likes of Neil Young and Tom Petty.
These are up close and personal events that showcase the band in an intimate but dynamic soundscape.
The DeSotos touring line up features;
Paul Gurney – lead vocals, guitars and bluesharp
Stuart McIntrye – vocals and bass
Vic Singe – drums and percussion, backing vocals
Vic is Carteron-based who performs with the band as their touring drummer.
