Chart topping kiwi rock band Fur Patrol have launched a PledgeMe campaign to raise up to $20,000 to realise their life long dream of pressing their debut album PET onto limited edition 12” double vinyl.
PET - which has never been available on vinyl before - spent a total of 30 weeks in the NZ Top 40 chart and includes singles such as, Now, Holy, Andrew and the famous song which holds the proud title of “knocking Destiny’s Child off the number one spot for Christmas in December 2000” - Lydia.
To mark the 20 year anniversary of PET’s release, pledgers will receive a variety of epic rewards for their donations which could include a personalised recording of Lydia with a chosen name sung in place of you-know-who, or even a private acoustic show.
Each and every pledger will receive a digital download of PET, plus a previously unreleased EP of a live performance recorded at Radio New Zealand's decommissioned Helen Young Studios.
Recorded by RNZ stalwart Andre Upston in the year 2000, the EP features live recordings of “Holy”, “Andrew”, “Hauling You Around”, and “Lydia”, plus the rare track “Fall” and a never-before-released cut “Just Like You”.
Ngā mihi nui, Radio New Zealand!!!
Having been out of circulation for almost as long as it’s been released, the iconic PET vinyl pressing will also officially include, for the very first time, the oh-so-'90s 'hidden track' "Bottles & Jars".
For more information on how to donate and the full list of amazing rewards available for pledgers who choose to donate their hard earned cash, see the campaign here.
