Crowdfunding 101 with Katie Thompson

Crowdfunding is a popular way for musicians to raise money to fund projects such as album recordings but if the campaign is not run correctly they tend to fail.

Katie was the first country artist in the world to successfully raise $50,000USD to record her second album via Sellaband - a music-based crowdfunding site. She was the crowdfunding campaign manager for Anika Moa's PledgeMe campaign for Songs for Bubbas 2 and has worked with independent artists including Kylie Price, Parabola West, Jenny Mitchell & Li'l Chuck. To date, she has raised over $250,000 towards her own and other independent artists campaigns.
In this essential hangout Katie will be sharing her knowledge and experience on how to create a successful crowdfunding campaign. This will include what's required before you begin, the basics of crowdfunding, tips on what has worked in past music-based campaigns & post-campaign to-dos.
