Madeleine release’s debut EP Just Reaching Out

Following 5 star reviews of her recent singles, today Madeleine Howard releases her much anticipated debut EP Just Reaching Out. Embodying a true kiwi singer-songwriter sound,  reminiscent of Brooke Fraser, previous singles have been included on NZ On Air’s NewTracks compilation and has gained recognition from the likes of Ladyhawke.

“This EP has been a long time coming,” Madeleine says. “Each track is special in its own way, reflecting on different stages of my life, from my late teens and early twenties, right up until now. They are songs that I have always wanted people to hear, so the fact that after so long they will finally be out in the world is amazing.”

Originally from Hawke’s Bay, Madeleine moved to Christchurch in 2017, and is now a part of the SOLE Music Academy Artist Development programme, working alongside artist mentors Sacha Vee and Will McGillivray (NOMAD).

Just Reaching Out was produced by Will McGillivray. “Will made the recording process super easy. He's incredibly talented and understood what I wanted to get out of these songs,” Madeleine says. “I'm so pleased with the end result, he's captured the essence of these songs so perfectly and I'm incredibly grateful.”

Just Reaching Out launches on 28 Aug on all streaming platforms. The EP features a collection of personal and emotive songs. The launch will be celebrated with an EP Release show with her own live band on Thursday 3rd Sep at the Darkroom in Christchurch.

“I love having other musicians bring your own songs to life. I can't wait to be able to share what we've been working on,” Madeleine says. “At the live show people can expect to hear all the tracks from the EP as well as unreleased material.”
