Fast on the rise, New Zealand singer-songwriter Paige shares a mesmerizing slowburner ‘Cold-Blooded’, out today on Sony Music Entertainment New Zealand.
Always wearing her heart on her sleeve, ‘Cold-Blooded’ is a rare co-write between Paige and fellow Kiwis MAALA and production duo Ambian & Sleo (Amila, Lepani) that dives into the twisted depths of love.
Writing songs is a way of life for 22 year-old Paige Tapara, who has been writing since she was 9 years old. For someone so young, Paige carries an old soul and isn’t afraid of getting honest with her earnest songwriter’s sensibility and velvetine voice.
In 2016, Paige’s life changed forever when started her infamous YouTube channel Paige’s Space with a humble acoustic guitar and a computer. Paige began uploading covers of songs that permeated a generation, then eventually took to sharing originals with her evergrowing fan base.
Sharing a debut EP On My Own in 2017, Paige marked her arrival in the music industry. The following year, she made waves with streaming platforms with her mesmerizing singles ‘So Far’ and ‘Alignments’ and found herself collaborating with fellow Kiwis Balu Brigada (‘Slow Dive’), JessB (‘So Low’) and opening for the likes of Nina Nesbitt, George Ezra, Ruel, and Kiwi sensations, Six60 and Drax Project. Paige went on to perform at major festivals around New Zealand including Bay Dreams and Soundsplash.
Released “in lockdown” over March, the young songwriter shared ‘Yellow’, a love letter to fans, friends and fellow mankind going through hard times.
Along the journey, fans have sparked from all walks of life including global superstars Lizzo and Billie Eilish, who shared Paige’s music with her millions of Instagram followers in 2018.
