Written in the days preceding the end of a long-term relationship, 19-year-old songwriter and producer Aidan Fine gives his listeners a deep look into the motions of a break up with the brand new single, ‘Deadroses’.
With smooth hip-hop production, thoughtful lyricism and a Pop/R&B chorus, ‘Deadroses’ manages to be equal parts melancholic and catchy. Drawing from the likes of D’Angelo, Kendrick Lamar and Mac Miller, Fine’s brand of hip-hop is unique, exciting, and accessible, catering towards a large NZ audience.
‘Deadroses’ will be released alongside a promotional video clip, with the hopes of later creating a short-film music video with the help of NZ On Air. Fine has set out to release 10 singles in 2020, with ‘Deadroses’ being the 5th. So far, off the back of his first 4 singles, Fine has landed on Spotify Editorial playlists, charted on independent radio, been featured in NZ Musician, received positive reviews on Radio NZ, and racked up tens of thousands of streams online.
Achieving all of this as an independent artist, all while being entirely self-managed, produced and engineered, Aidan Fine is a young creative to watch.
