Just one week prior to lockdown, Lisa Crawley got together with Grammy-nominated producer/songwriter Rob Kleiner (Sia, The Weekend) and Grammy winning songwriter Rich Jacques (Lisa Loeb, Colin Hay) to write and collaborate. Despite their mutual love for a sad song, together they decided to create a song with a more uplifting nature, which by the end turned into ‘Show You What Love Is’.
The track is a dreamy folk-pop number based on wanting to let some light in during dark times. Even though the song wasn’t written with anything lockdown related in mind, while stuck at home Lisa decided to ask friends, families and social media followers around the world to send in ten second clips of how they’re spending time during lockdown and isolation, which she pieced together to create a heartwarming official video.
Lisa is keeping busy and continuing to work towards her third album and is writing and collaborating more than ever. To keep connected, she is currently hosting Piano Karaoke live on Instagram three times a week, playing piano for singers to join in across the globe.Over the last year, Los Angeles based Crawley has starred in the critically acclaimed theatre production of ONCE: The Musical in her home town of Auckland, New Zealand, travelled the world with her music, released singles ‘Tragedy Boy’ (featured on ABC’s Stumptown), ‘Best Thing In The Room’ as well as Songs I Like But Did Not Write, a solo piano and vocal EP that reworks some of her favourite songs.
