This group of songwriters first came together in July 2019 at an Arts Centre songwriting workshop with Bic Runga and have continued to meet onsite monthly to support each other to develop new work. Their work covers a range of styles including musical theatre, country pop, R&B, soul and alternative rock.

Steffany Beck is a national songwriting competition winner who just released her debut self-written EP Blue Eyed Girl. Her heartfelt country pop songs will get you singing along with a voice that she describes as "country Taylor Swift meets Alanis Morissette".

Elvis Arthur is a local alternative-pop singer/songwriter. Elvis self-describes his style as “elastic word play collides with intricate piano lines”. Elvis draws influence from early music and artists such as Kate Bush, Tori Amos, David Bowie and The Stranglers. This year will mark the release of his debut single.

Amy Bowie is an accomplished local singing teacher and who enjoys writing in styles inspired by musical theatre. She will sing a song inspired by The Arts Centre.

Dean Eggleston is an alternative rock musician who is releasing a number of singles this year as well as performing and open mic nights. His influences include Neil Young, James Taylor, Tom Petty, Crowded House, Pearl Jam, Goo Goo Dolls and The Lumineers.

Zoe Hunter is a young singer/songwriter who released her first four original songs in 2019. Zoe’s current influences include R&B and soul flavours such as Peter Collins, H.E.R. and Leanne LaHavas. Zoe loves performing her own mix of dynamic vocals and imaginative melodies.
