You can sing a spring song or appreciate the kids in autumn crunching leaves or just snuggle up to watch the winter snow falling...you never know when your next lucky rainbow might appear and if it rains just open your dear umbrella and stomp in all the puddles cos who doesn’t love the rain?
Little Wild Music releases a second album for 2020 with help from Creative New Zealand. Sing Through The Year - A Little Wild Childhood is a 25 track collection written by Claudia Robin Gunn wrapping up a theme of seasons, weather and nature songs for families. Claudia was inspired to create such a production at this time, as a response to the challenges of 2020. “I really wanted to make a kids album that had resources to open up the singing experience for children both at home and in learning environments - I’ve included the chords of how to play every song in the songbook, and also am releasing the album as instrumentals so that there are backing tracks to assist with learning and enjoying these songs however folks would like to render them. I was lucky to grow up surrounded by music and encouragement to pipe up and use my voice - so I love being part of the chorus of musicians making space for the next generation of talent’.
Featuring guest co-writer and performer Lucy Hiku (Itty Bitty Beats) and watercolour illustrations by Elise De Silva, the album has been produced and arranged by Tom Fox at The Sound Room who also created Little Wild Universe (June 2020). All vocals were recorded by Claudia (and Lucy) at their home studios, and shared across time and space for Tom to arrange and weave his magic.
