Following on from their first single, Mirror Man, in March of this year, the Levi Lights On Project are set to release their follow up single, Eyes Of A Child on 28 June 2019.
Produced by Mitch French of Black Dog Recording Studio in Auckland, Eyes Of A Child is an incredibly powerful track which once again spans multiple genres. With a heavy folk influence and a catchy pop melody, this track will again have extremely broad appeal.
Levi’s heartfelt and passionate vocal, coupled with an unusual blend of instruments including a fluttering saxophone and moody cello, make for a very unique sound. The lyrics encourage us all to become open, trusting and loving and to see again how the world looks through the innocent eyes of a child.
Levi said of the track, “Eyes Of A Child was written after I missed my daughter’s birthday. Although disappointed, she was forgiving, accepting and loving. Children have an incredible capacity for acceptance and forgiveness which we seem to lose sight of as adults. This track was very much part of my own self-development and encouraged me to regain those childhood virtues and see the world as I did as a child”.
Levi truly is an inspirational songwriter and he and his band, the Lights On Project, have been catching the attention of music lovers in and around Auckland for the last 18 months. Accompanying Levi in his full 5-piece line up are Jason Slade on guitar/bass, Tim Shacklock on cello, Andrew Miller on saxophone and Igor Shnayderman on cajon/percussion. These five individually talented musicians come together to deliver songs which touch the soul and unpick the very nature of human existence.
