Fresh off their regional tour of New Zealand the Rotorua dub funk fivesome Strangely Arousing (Michael Anderson) find themselves boarding an international flight to Seoul, Korea to kick of their 7 date August tour of Asia.
The brief expedition has been made possible by Creative Aotearoa Trust of NZ and will peak at Incheon Pentaport Rockfest in Seoul headlined by industrial pioneers Nine Inch Nails, My Bloody Valentine and Mike Shinoda (Linkin Park).
The lads will then be heading to Beijing following this to play a range of shows across the country. Part of this involves them working with students and teachers at Ahui university to record their upcoming single.
Strangely Arousing released their 11-song self-titled album covering their melting pot of sound in August last year to critical acclaim making it to number 4 on the NZ Top 40 Album Charts. As a result, they were one of five bands nominated for a Taite Music Prize for Auckland Live Best Independent Debut award.
From Raggamuffin to Rhythm & Vines, from sell out tours around New Zealand to gigging in the Middle East, they have seen the world.
Recent highlights include playing to 15,000 people at Lakeside 2018 and headlining the Whangarei Fritter Festival with Elemeno P and Salmonella Dub.
The band will hit the ground running upon return with the release of their latest single ‘Ladeda’ and national tour to be announced later this month.
