Dunedin musician Kane Strang is a Going Global success story with his 2015 showcase being a deal-sealer for U.S. record label, Dead Oceans (Mitski, Marlon Williams, Slowdive). Head honcho Phil Waldorf says, “I was a huge fan of Kane’s music when I travelled to New Zealand for Going Global…It’s one thing to like a few songs you’ve heard on Bandcamp or Soundcloud, it’s another to see it live. It was an inspired, invigorating performance, and confirmed what I already loved in the recordings. We had to work with him.” Kane Strang released his sophomore album in June 2017 on globally-distributed Dead Oceans and has successfully toured the U.S., U.K. and Europe.
