Jeremy McPike

With over two decades of experience in the New Zealand music industry, Jeremy McPike is a true renaissance man of the recording studio.

In 2000, Jeremy took on the management of York Street Studios, playing a pivotal role in establishing it as one of the most iconic recording venues in the country. During his tenure, he launched an engineering internship program that fostered a generation of award-winning engineers and producers, both locally and internationally. As a key industry figure, Jeremy leveraged York Street to build partnerships with notable organizations, including the University of Auckland, Smokefree Rockquest, Play It Strange, APRA, Air New Zealand, and national radio stations such as Channel Z, ZM, and bFM.

In 2014, Jeremy joined Neil Finn’s Roundhead Studios, where his client-focused approach and extensive network of contacts transformed the studio into a creative hub. Collaborating with Greg Haver, he helped establish the first Producer Series and Song Hubs sessions. Overseeing all aspects of the recording process, Jeremy has contributed to countless chart-topping projects, working with renowned artists such as Crowded House, Dave Dobbyn, Opshop, Shihad, Mick Fleetwood, the Black Eyed Peas, and many more.

Jeremy later joined the team at Parachute Music, where he oversaw technical upgrades and operational procedures for the newly refurbished Studio A.

An entrepreneur and connector, Jeremy consistently gives back to the community. Recently, he has been involved in developing a nonprofit initiative for young creatives called Launchpad. In 2009, he produced Merry Christmas Baby, a star-studded charity album that went gold and raised $15,000 for Plunket NZ. Earlier, in 2005, he managed the recording of Anchor Me, a charity single commemorating the 20th anniversary of the Rainbow Warrior.

When not working behind the console, Jeremy serves as a guest lecturer at the University of Auckland and SAE, where he also sits on the Creative Industries Advisory Committee. He is one of the founders of the AI Coffee Group, a collective of professionals exploring inter-industry collaborations made possible through AI.
