Lorraine Barry

A former Director of International Marketing for Virgin Music Group in the UK, Lorraine Barry is now a Music Manager in her new homeland of New Zealand.

After emigrating to NZ, she began managing Dave Dobbyn, a relationship that now stands at 15 years. Avantadale Bowling Club, nomad, Milly Tabak and The Miltones and Team Dynamite make up the current roster. In 2019, Lorraine received her second Manager of the Year Award from the Music Managers’ Forum of NZ. She sits on the Board of the New Zealand Music Commission and is a keen mentor of developing artists.

In 16 years with Virgin Records, Barry worked globally with artists including Ice T, Massive Attack, Neneh Cherry, John Lee Hooker, Placebo, Gomez, The Verve, Chemical Brothers and the phenomenon that was the Spice Girls. She was promoted to Director in 1997, overseeing the international marketing, promotion and production teams and in 1999 she won the Special Achievement Award at the UK music industry’s Women of the Year Awards.
